The Morris Women sent a 7s squad with an 11-woman roster to the National Club 7s Championships in San Francisco, CA over the August 4-5, 2012 weekend. Attending the Championship Tournament proved how much the Morris Women's summer 7s program has grown.

After weeks of practice in the grueling heat and fighting through injuries, it was exciting for the Women's hard work to pay off from both rugby practice and trainer-gym workouts. All summer 2012, they attended eight tournaments in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, and New York, where they secured the Nationals third seed from the Northeast region. The Women placed 3rd or 4th in the majority of these tournaments and 5 players were invited to try out for the NRU All-Star 7s team.

Representing the Morris, New Jersey community was a great honor for the team and the Morris Rugby Corporation. In a tough pool of excellent 7s teams, the Morris Women stepped up to the challenge and played well in spite of injuries and losses. Overall the Women learned many lessons as they finished an incredible summer 7s season in chilly San Francisco.

The Women are committed to spreading the love of rugby and continuing to promote and advance Morris Rugby as a serious force to reckon with in the rugby world. Dedicated and focused, the Women will continue to hone their 7s skills on the pitch as they aim to make the Morris Rugby Family proud again next summer.
