Join the Morris Rugby U15 boys tackle rugby program
Winter Indoor practice sessions will be held at the Indoor Sports Pavilion in Randolph from 7-9pm each Thursday beginning on December 4th and continuing through February 26th (except 12/25 and 1/1).
Then, we will move outside in March to practice and compete in a full Spring game schedule which will likely include opponents from Union, Parsippany, St Peters (Jersey City), Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and New York!
This schedule will conclude with the Jersey Cup championship on May 17th where we will defend our 3 time state championship! Practice will be Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6-7:30pm on the Denville Pocono Rugby field.
The U15’s are players who have not reached their 15th birthday on September 1st 2008 Generally, U15s are for boys in 7th, 8th and 9th grade. Players from any town may participate and no experience is necessary.
There is a $225 application fee, which includes all indoor and outdoor sessions October-May. Game Jerseys will be provided, but each player will need to purchase shorts and socks at a nominal cost. An application can be obtained off the website, www.morrisrugby.org or by emailing head coach Mike Stumpf at mjstumpf@optonline.org.Older boys may join the Morris Lions boys High School team and girls may join the Morris Lions girls high school team. These teams run a schedule similar to the above and can take players from any school. They compete against other high school teams from the area. There is a separate application and fee structure for the high school teams which can be obtained on www.morrisrugby.org

Morris U13 Boys (12) v. Greenwich (12)

On Sunday, 04/26, Morris Rugby U13s and U15s traveled to Greenwich. The U13s side played a full 15 man aside game. Greenwich fielded a team of nearly all 13 year olds, which presented a bit of a size and weight problem for our team that was made up of a majority of 12 year olds.

On Sunday, 04/19/2009, Morris U13s side played a 12 a side game, which worked out well for everyone. The Morris boys went on the attack from the opening kick off and were quick to utilize their well practiced rucking skills.

The U15s brought home Morris Rugby's first hardware of the year, going 2 and 1 in competition play to take first place in the U15 division of the 2009 North Carolina Youth Festival.
